Humanity: One. Connected. A Rainbow Of Possibilities.

What is it that makes us human? There's many ways to explore that question...here's a few consider...

A Brave And Startling Truth - This video presents Maya Angelou reading her poem, A Brave and Startling Truth. Commissioned by the United Nations to honor the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the UN, the poem also flew into space aboard the Orion spacecraft. Beyond the beautiful poem itself, Maya Angelou's opening remarks to introduce the poem are for the ages. In her remarks, she requests that the poem be shared. So, in addition to the video, here's where you can find the text of the poem (only).
Journey Of The Universe - Cosmologist Brian Swimme and Mary Evelyn Tucker, co-director of the Forum on Religion and Ecology at Yale University, explore humanity's story from the perspective of our journey together through the universe.
Human: The Movie - What is it that makes us human? Is there unity in our diversity? Is it possible to come together to solve our humanity's problems? Driven by such questions, filmmaker and artist Yann Arthus-Bertrand spent three years collecting real-life stories from 2,000 women and men in 60 countries. Each interviewee was asked the same simple, yet essential questions. “What was the toughest trial you had to face, and what did you learn from it?” was 1 of the 40 standard questions. The answers to such questions are woven together in a stunning montage of personal reflections and insights. Compelling, honest, tragic, beautiful, and sometimes disturbing, this amazing conversation covers a vast arena of human life experience and attitude. The film premiered before the United Nations General Assembly.
Research On The Human Genome - Genetics research is illuminating our common human origins at a level not previously possible.
